The State Duma of Russian Federation adopted a draft of the Law on improving state control over the handling of pesticides and agrochemicals

The State Duma adopted in the third reading a draft of the Law on improving state control over the handling of pesticides and agrochemicals.
The document empowers the government of the Russian Federation to approve the regulation on state control over the safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals. Also a draft of the Law regulate the rights and obligations of officials to control the safe handling of such products.
They will be responsible for checking the status of the certificate of state registration of a pesticide or agrochemical product and assess the compliance of the imported products with the requirements of this document.
Regulatory authorities will have to take samples of pesticides and agrochemicals for laboratory testing in order to determine their compliance with the requirements of the valid registration certificate. These rules will come into force on January 1, 2022.
The document implies the creation of a federal state information system to control pesticides and agrochemicals. In addition, there will be specialized checkpoints through which the import of pesticides and agrochemicals will be allowed into Russia.
