Decisions of the EAEU on the suspension of anti-dumping duties on herbicides and customs duties on a range of imported products

31.03.2022
The Eurasian Economic Commission’s Board has decided not to apply anti-dumping measures against the European herbicides on a temporary basis (Decision № 45).

According to EEC Trade Minister Andrey Slepnev, the suspension of the anti-dumping duties on herbicides will help mitigate logistical problems caused by the disruption of global supply chains, as well as partially offset currency volatility. Ultimately, the EEC decision will support agricultural producers in the EEU countries and contribute to ensuring food security.

The decision shall come into effect after 10 calendar days after its official publication (March 22, 2022) and is valid until September 30, 2022.

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission also adopted a decision (No. 37) supplementing the package of measures of customs and tariff regulation in respect of certain types of goods imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union in order to implement measures aimed at increasing the sustainability of the economies of EEC member states.

A wide range of products aimed at ensuring the economic and food stability of the EAEU countries, including a number of agricultural products, will be temporarily exempted from import customs duties until September 30, 2022.
